Concert Hall Series
Our Concert Hall Series has been the heart of Children’s Concert Society since 1947. Through this series, students have the opportunity to experience sights and sounds that can only fully be appreciated in a concert hall. Concerts are held at the Akron Civic Theatre and last approximately 45 minutes and will be preceded by age appropriate music played on the historic Mighty Wulitzer. For the 2017- 2018 Concert Hall Series we are happy to present Neos Dance Theatre and The Dancing Wheels Company. Read more about how these performances tie into your curriculum and offer an enriching afternoon of arts education for students.
Pre-register your school by submitting the form to Children’s Concert Society. Cost is $5 per student. Limited scholarships are available for students who cannot pay the entire admission fee. Principals, please call our office 330-972-2504 to discuss scholarship needs.
Concerts are selected by a core committee of representatives from CCS, the music coordinator for the Akron Public Schools, and representatives from the performing organization conform to the state curriculum guidelines for the grade levels involved. CCS prepares Teacher Manuals which are designed to assist the teacher in preparing his/her class for the concert hall experience and for the particular program that has been designed for them.
